About 

A personalized/art event site/app that allows the user to tailor content based on their interests. This app is a place for likeminded people to discover what's going on in Leeds and immerse themselves in the culture

Layout Sketches for Events Webpage 

With the focus of the website/search engine giving the user a space that is some part of their own creation/tailored experience, the layout of type and imagery/event tiles is simple so that the background can be diverse i.e. more variation of content behind the placeholders.

Flat shapes added to the background; while it will most likely be album covers/event posters that fill the background in the final app/search engine, the background shapes communicate the simplicity of the foreground imagery and type placement.

I prefer this format as it makes the composition between the foreground and background more cohesive, and gives the page needed depth (due to the simplicity of the forms)
